It was so nice to meet and shoot an engagement session with Suly and Jeff… They live in The Bronx, and decided to come up to lil’ ole Cornwall for the shoot. The day was perfect, and here are the highlights!
How nice is The Garrison for a wedding?!? They have beautiful views, grounds, and the food is fantastic. Nora and Ralph had the entire day there, from prep upstairs to ceremony on the patio. The party rocked all night with entertainment from A Perfect Blend. Congrats to you Nora and Ralph, and thanks for having us there to photograph your big day!!
This engagement session at Jared’s family farm was the first time I was able to play with external flash during daylight hours. I know it’s done all the time, but I just never had the chance. So, my minion Kathleen and I headed to Granite Springs NY and experimented- as you can see from the last behind the scenes photo as we tried to fake sunlight… I’d say we did pretty good! The previous photo has zero photoshop, and looks just like the sun. Natalie and I will be shooting their wedding next year in CT, and we can’t wait!
Annette (who has 7 kids!- you just have to say that every time you say her name to someone new) and I have been debating how many of these we have done… and I forget the total. We think this is the 8th year. The first year she asked me to see if I would do a day of portraits for families attending Lee Rd school here in my home town for a discounted rate, with part of the proceeds going towards the PTO, and I jumped all over it. It’s been a pleasure to see all these kids grow up over the years. Here are the singles from this year:
Jessica and Ryan know how to party! Seasons Catering is a great place, and perfect for these two… Our engagement session was back in April on a rather cold day, but we lucked out on their wedding. Everyone would agree that the whole day was lots of fun, laughs, and good times- as you can see from the last photo of Natalie and I :)
Many people in this area have been looking forward to the opening of West Hills Country Club for any wedding, and Mike Bonura certainly did not disappoint! I know it’s been open for a while, we just haven’t had the chance to be there and blog about it. The staff there is great, the tent looks amazing, and the grounds have so much potential for photographs- we only went to a few spots, and I’m still learning the place… Overall, just another great day with a very sweet couple!
Who doesn’t love a wedding at The Grandview? no one… maybe the competition venues, but even then they would love it as a guest. I’ll just let it be at that for this great couple- I know Therese is very anxious to see this blog! Shout out to A Perfect Blend DJ David- who we’ve been seeing a lot lately! and Austin and Sal of cinema-roll was a pleasure to work with… looking forward to seeing their video.
